Child Dedication

"For this child I prayed, and the Lord has given me my petition which I asked of Him. So I have also dedicated him to the Lord; as long as he lives he is dedicated to the Lord." - 1 Samuel 1:27-28

If you have a child age two or younger, we invite you to participate in our upcoming Child Dedication. Parents have the opportunity to make a public commitment before God, their church, and their family to raise their children in a Christ-centered home. Commitments are made in a public setting during the service to acknowledge the importance of being accountable to other Christians.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Who may dedicate a child? Anyone who is making the choice to commit their life to model the ways of Jesus and the Bible to their child, or children, is welcome. If you are the only parent who is a follower of Christ, or you are a single parent, we welcome you to be part of a child dedication celebration.

What does Compass Christian Church believe about child dedication and salvation? Child Dedication does not impart grace or salvation to a child. Salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ as each person recognizes their sinfulness and receives forgiveness and eternal life through Christ and His sacrifice.

At what age can a child take part in the child dedication celebration? We do not have a set age requirement for child dedication. The average age for a child to be dedicated is four months up to two years.
