Notes:

  • Families or youth groups (private group, church, scouts, school) make a monthly card to send to our seniors. The student makes 12 cards, one for each month, and returns the cards to their leader/teacher who then turns them into MCCC.
  • Cards should have a drawing or stickers to represent a monthly theme with a note inside. One of the cards should be a Birthday Card. Notes can be about school, hobbies, pets, families, or whatever interests you.
  • MCCC will provide client information such as name, gender, birth month and year, and any other relevant information.
  • Each student should include his name, group/school he represents, and the phrase “In partnership with Mid-Cities Care Corps” on each card. If the child and his guardian choose, he may include his address in order for the client to write back. Not all clients will choose to write back, but a natural pen pal relationship may form if both parties agree.
  • After cards are collected, MCCC will mail the cards on the 1st of each month.
  • Cards should be placed in an envelope to be mailed to the client. Please write the client's name on the front. The return address may be the student’s address or MCCC. On the bottom left corner, place the month and year the card should be mailed (ex. November 2020).
  • Do not include in the cards any money, gift cards, or other gifts.
  • Due to COVID-19 and the safety of our clients, students should NOT offer to visit or assist the seniors without prior approval from MCCC. If a senior requests assistance, in any form, please direct them to MCCC or contact MCCC directly at 817-282-0531 and ask for Jennifer, Amanda, or Jane.
